In the heart of East San Jose, Meadowfair stands at a pivotal moment. With the foundation laid by our neighborhood association and the unwavering support of the City of San Jose through the TogetherSJ program, we are uniquely positioned to create real and lasting change in our community. But to truly transform our neighborhood, we need the most critical ingredient—your participation.
A United Community: The Key to Success
The challenges we face—crime, homelessness, and traffic—are complex and cannot be solved by any one entity alone. The City of San Jose and the District 8 office have shown an unprecedented commitment to partnering with our community. They have been actively engaging in outreach, listening to our concerns, and providing resources to address these issues. But meaningful change requires more than just institutional support; it requires the voices, ideas, and actions of Meadowfair residents.
Why Your Involvement Matters
When residents and local government join forces, we become a powerful catalyst for change. Together, we can:
Combat Crime: By creating neighborhood watch programs, increasing communication with local law enforcement, and advocating for community policing, we can make Meadowfair a safer place for our families.

Improve Traffic Safety: With the planned developments around Eastridge Mall and potential changes like the VTA expansion and new housing projects, it’s crucial that we proactively address traffic concerns. Adopt the Park Program: Through the generous support and funding from the City of San Jose, we now have a dedicated team of volunteers who participate in the "Adopt the Park" program. Each month, this core group of individuals gathers at Meadowfair Park, proudly wearing their San Jose vests and using tools fully funded by the city, to ensure our park remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all. This initiative not only beautifies our community but also fosters a sense of pride and stewardship among residents.
The Future of Meadowfair: A Time of Transformation
The area around Eastridge Mall is on the brink of significant change. The expansion of Tesla, Kaiser’s future presence, the VTA expansion, the closure of Reid-Hillview Airport, and the potential for new housing developments will all impact our neighborhood in the coming years.
